Abstract

This article thinks the transmethodological perspective as an epistemic alternative for the decolonization of communicational thought in Ethnocommunication research. We raise problematizations about the epistemological status of indigenous knowledge in relation to the scientific status that supports the set of colonial knowledge generated from academic disciplines. We also consider the need to adopt decolonized knowledges in investigations about indigenous communication practices. The results reveal transmethodology as a possible current for claiming a horizontal dialogue with indigenous cosmologies.
