Abstract

During the quarantine due to COVID-19 in Colombia, from April to May 2020, the news consumption habits of the media were investigated. The online survey had 2,084 participants from all over the country, who perceived that there was an overproduction and overexposure of news about the pandemic. Additionally, their editorial line conditioned the information, the topic was not covered adequately, and it was treated sensationally, generating unnecessary social alarm.
