Abstract

The objective of the article is to show how time is in dispute in the world of journalism and a sign of precariousness. To this end, communications about the work of six young journalists who work in a peripheral Brazilian media market. The workers' speeches are a way of accessing the reality of the world of work and were understood from the ergological perspective that integrates studies in communication and work (Fígaro, 2008), having the dramatic concept of the use of oneself and of self for others (Schwartz, Durrive, 2007) as central to understanding how the structural determinations of the production system affect the singularities of work.
