Abstract

This paper analyzes the communication strategies used by an amateur reporter from Pernambuco to disseminate informative content in the community in which he lives and which are not prioritized by the agendas of communication conglomerates. To conduct this investigation, theoretical and methodological insights from Lahire (2002; 2004; 2005; 2006) are utilized, focusing on a sociology at the individual level, along with research on social innovation and news deserts. An in-depth interview was carried out to reconstruct his life trajectory and address the formation of new communicative arrangements. Finally, it is considered that the role of the amateur reporter contributes to social innovation by overcoming news deserts.
