The Formal Work Of Communication In The Creative Industry In The State Of Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil

Abstract

This article analyzes the performance of formal communication workers in the Creative Industry in the Creative Industry within the territorial scope of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Methodologically, it utilizes microdata from the Annual Social Information (RAIS) between 2012 and 2021. The results point to a 40.5% increase in formal communication jobs in the sector; average remuneration of these workers of 2.96 minimum wages; rep resentation of 60% of women communicators at IC, compared to 40% of men, but average remuneration for women is 6.5% lower than that of men.
