Abstract

This article aims to understand how work as a digital influencer constitutes a means of negotiating belonging for Venezuelan migrants in Brazil and what this tells us from the point of view of their socio-labor insertion. The reflection is guided by a theoretical discussion that intertwines contemporary migrations with conceptual issues involving communication and work in the context of platform capitalism, culminating in the analysis of interviews and ethnographic observations. It is noted that migrants are subjected to precarious and poorly paid working conditions in exchange for visibility on social media.
