Abstract

We analyzed the health campaigns available on the website of the Brazilian Ministry of Health, referring to publications from the 2021-2022 period, during the covid-19 pandemic. We used Critical Discourse Analysis to understand how power relations present in media discourse, through institutional channels, can contribute to the maintenance of asymmetries. We observed the absence of public communication aimed at welcoming refugee populations, as well as the lack of actions to raise collective awareness about the pandemic context, due to the political situation experienced in the country.
