Abstract

This article analyzes the brazilian journalism specializing in agrarian issue, in front of the climate emergency and agribusiness, focused on the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro. It combines Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 2001), documentary and literature research. The corpus consists of 131 news articles published by 11 journalistic organizations, covering the 25th, 26th and 27th editions of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2019, 2021, and 2022. The results predominantly frame an agro-environmentalist approach, to the carbon market, defended by private and state powers. The more specialized the journalistic organization, the more aligned it is with the dominant discourse.
