Abstract

This article aims to make a connection between the theory of Folkcommunication,
formulated by the Brazilian researcher Luiz Beltrão, and the ideal of resistance, the mainstay
of progressive communicational studies in the Latin American context. Initially, the article
dialogues with theoretical and empirical evidence for the construction of a Brazilian theory
of communication, highlighting the role of informational praxis. Next, the resistance cultural,
political and communicational is addressed based on Latin American perspectives, with a
focus on the performance of social movements that use different types of media, online and
offline. The study is carried out from a bibliographical research and concludes on the actuality
of folkcommunication manifestations as resistance in the exercise of the conquest of rights
(human, social and environmental) and freedoms (religious, civil, political) enunciated from
a movement with an information matrix.
