Abstract

The work is committed to the qualitative and empirical exposition of the epistemological path of Popular and Community Communication in the country, elucidating an alternative pedagogy to understand the socio-political role of the predominant development models from the beginning of the 1970s until now, and the relation of paradigmatic forces of these currents with the strengthening or not of communications aimed at social transformation, with emphasis on the examples of the Agricultural Production Cooperative União da Vitória (Copavi), in Paraná; Pole of Borborema, in Paraíba, and the Union of Associations, Centers and Society of Residents of Heliópolis (Unas), in São Paulo.
